HCBS Review Team Leader

This candidate will effectively manage the Home and Community Based Waiver Program associated with provider agency compliance and record review process, throughout the State of Illinois. Responsible for ensuring effectiveness of daily operations for RN field reviewer team. This position will be traveling in the State of Illinois 50-80% of their time (mainly in the Chicagoland area).

Requirements include:

• Registered Professional Nurse with an active and unrestricted license.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in quality management for a healthcare system, previous accreditation agency or insurance setting.
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years in supervisor or consultant role.
• Must have access to a licensed/registered vehicle and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
• Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage workloads, and meet or exceed project deadlines.

Preferred Requirements:

• BS and/or BA degree in Nursing or other health-related field preferred.
• Certification in Quality Management or Project Management desirable.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides direct supervision for the overall management of the field nurses, to include workload assignments, providing guidance and reinforcement regarding scope of work, as well as act as subject matter expert for the designated HCBS Waiver program projects.
• Conducts Onsite Provider Agency Monitoring reviews through the collection of data gathered during the record review process, client and agency interview process in accordance with the State established protocols and provides summary report to agencies prior to exiting of the audit process.
• Preparation and submission of comprehensive audit report which includes findings and recommendations for improvement.
• Assesses and accurately collects and reviews data gathered at monitoring and record review process and documents or enters information into designated eQSuite™, in order to generate a summary report for submission to the state.  
• Assist special projects for the utilization review unit up to and including establishing productivity benchmarks.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers in order to promote and educate regarding our services

Utilization Review Nurse
